Western Union Stopped Sending Telegrams STOP
A few weeks ago, I thought it’d be fun and neat to send a friend a telegram for his birthday. I mean, who the hell sends telegrams these days? I ended up sending an email anyway, but a few times since then it’s popped into my head to see if you could even do this anymore. I still hadn’t remembered to check when I was in front of a computer until I saw this news story today.
Short answer: nope.
Era Ends: Western Union Stops Sending Telegrams
Western Union started sending telegrams 145 years ago. I neither sent nor received one. That makes me a little sad. I wonder if any other companies still offer telegram service.
