Lookit All The Pretty Horsies

Since arriving in Portland in June, I’d wondered if the rings I saw embedded in curbs here and there were for hitching horses. We were out for a walk and rounded the corner to find the answer. Sorta.

It took a while for me to stumble across some more background, but the little ponies all over town are the result of Scott Wayne Indiana’s Horsie Project. He’s encouraging people to add more little horsies wherever they see an unoccupied ring. Here’s some info to help you do just that.
