Typography Tuesday 005: Helvetica, Not Helvetica, and TypeCon2007

Typography TuesdayMostly link-slinging this week, but I have to post something on Tuesdays or Typo Tuesday is typeless.

Helvetica and Alternatives to Helvetica – Helvetica is a solid, quality typeface. It’s also pretty tired. This is a nice assortment of alternatives to help change things up a little. Consider Neuzeit S. It even predates Helvetica and flows nicely with its rounder geometric letterforms.

On a related note, the makers of Helvetica (the film due out later this year) have posted some clips of the film.

Also, TypeCon2007 is being held in my back yard this year! Well, if my back yard was in Seattle. I’m still going.
